Introducing Elly, a fully electric research workboat operating in the Trondheimsfjord with a home port in Trondheim. Elly is dedicated to developing innovation and performing work tasks by supporting her as an available infrastructure and sensor platform for students, industries, and researchers.

Elly is equipped with a fully electric, emission-free propulsion system, ensuring optimal working comfort for the crew and the technology under testing. She is specifically designed to integrate new sensors and technologies and features available workstations for this purpose.

The boat is equipped with a comprehensive navigation system, including radar, echosounder, chartplotter, GNSS, and AIS services. Additionally, vessel movements are measured with a high-frequency Motion Reference Unit (MRU) device. Data is broadcasted to shore in real-time and stored in a database for historical reference.

Elly will be a key player in the future of sustainable marine and maritime research. She is available for hire by the maritime community, for instance, for maritime demonstrations in various projects.
